Åre By, the center of Åre

Åre offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding. From the center, Åre By, the ski slopes are easily accessible and most accommodations are within walking distance of the main amenities. Åre offers many trendy shops and restaurants, along with a vibrant nightlife, making it the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation.

Skiing in Åre By, for all winter enthusiasts

In the lower part of the ski area, you'll find many red and black slopes, famous from the Alpine World Cup. The higher part is accessible by gondola, where you can choose from challenging as well as easier blue and green slopes. Around the top of Åreskutan mountain, there are plenty of off-piste opportunities. Ski back to the center, the perfect place to end the day with a visit to one of the many bars.

Children's area, safe skiing for the little ones

The children's area in Rödkullen offers various ski lifts, conveyor belts and a sledding hill. It is also home to Valle's Ski Adventure, an illuminated adventure path for the youngest skiers.

Snow parks and fun rides in Åre By, for the adventurous skier and snowboarder

SkiStar Snow Park Åre is the largest snow park in Åre. The park features jumps, rails and boxes. Additionally, the fun ride on slope 54 offers jumps for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Åre Björnen, family-friendly skiing and modern accommodations

Åre Björnen is a child- and beginner-friendly area, with easy ski slopes and plenty of activities for the children. Björnen provides access to the Åre By ski area and offers new, high-standard accommodations, ski in/out! 

Most accommodations in Björnen are located right by the slopes and are ideal for families or larger groups. Here you'll also find the award-winning design hotel, Copperhill Mountain Lodge. This hotel is not available in our booking system, but we definitely offer it as well!

Skiing in Duved and Tegefjäll, peace and space

Duved, located in the western part of Åre, offers long, wide, well-maintained ski slopes. Duved is connected to Tegefjäll and ski buses provide quick connections to the center of Åre.

Opening hours and additional activities

The ski lifts are generally open from the start of the season until the first week of February from 09.00 to 15.00 hrs, after that, until 16.30 hrs. For those looking for more, there is morning and evening skiing.

Accessibility

Most guests fly to Trondheim Værnes in Norway and rent a car at the airport. It is then a 2-hour drive to Åre.
