Svalbard Adventures - Northern Lights and Arctic expeditions in Longyearbyen

Dog sledding trips

Dog sledding trip under the starry sky with the dancing Northern Lights, an experience you can't miss. Sit back in the sled, let the dogs take you into the wilderness. December to mid-February, 4 hours, from 6 years old.

Dog sledding trip to an ice cave, two experiences in one. We start on easy terrain, but as we approach the glacier, we will encounter more elevation changes. At the glacier, the dogs can rest while you explore the magical ice world beneath the surface. January to June, 7 hours, from 8 years old.

Snowmobile trips

Northern Lights safari on an electric snowmobile. Since the snowmobile is 100% electric, you can truly enjoy the Arctic silence. Approximately 40 km over easy, mostly flat terrain. December to mid-March, 3 hours, from 8 years old.

Wilderness safari on an electric snowmobile, perfect for a taste of snowmobiling. The safari takes you through beautiful Adventdalen. We often spot reindeer and learn about their lives in this harsh climate. February to mid-May, 3 hours, from 8 years old.

Tempelfjord snowmobile safari, if you want to spend a day exploring the wilderness far from Longyearbyen. A stunning trip, the view of Tempelfjord is truly special. Mid-January to mid-May, 7 hours, from 14 years old.

Snowcat

Northern Lights safari, a family-friendly tour. We drive across the frozen Adventdalen valley, making several stops to search for the Northern Lights. It can be cold, so be sure to dress warmly. December to mid-March, 2.5 hours, from 2 years old.

Ice cave with a snowcat, a frozen world unfolds as you descend into an ice cave. Experience the silence of the underground world of ice and snow. The trip to and from the ice cave is done with a snowcat. February to mid-May, 3 hours, from 6 years old.

Camp Barentz

Northern Lights evening, a special evening at Camp Barentz. Enjoy the crackling fire, food and drinks and learn all about the Northern Lights. If this phenomenon makes an appearance, we’ll head outside to experience it. So, be sure to bring warm outdoor clothing. October to mid-March, 3 hours, from 8 years old.

Coal Mine 3

Visit the coal mine, an exciting tour that gives you a glimpse of the old days in Longyearbyen and shows how the mine has been repurposed since its closure. You’ll walk through the rooms where the equipment has been left exactly as it was when production stopped. Available year-round, 3 hours, from 8 years old.
